Springtime

It hasn't really felt like spring around here, it's been pretty cold and rainy. But we have been in the busy spring mode. Lots of fun stuff going on. 

Elder Moyes is in Grand Rapids with Elder Degroff. This week is transfers and he will find out if he is staying or leaving. He only has two transfers left!! We are so excited. He has loved his time in the Grand Valley ward. He has been working with a lot of investigators and has a few set for baptism. He has been working with two Marks, Angel, and Lori. We love to hear his stories and talk to him each week. His weeks are busier, he has met so many other missionaries and had multiple exchanges. He is growing and learning and we are so happy for him. We also registered him for the Fall semester at Weber State and planned a trip to Boston when he returns. I'm not sure if he is as excited as we are to talk about all the new Fall plans, but it is pretty exciting to think we are getting so close.

Abby has been busy with wrapping up her junior year of school and drill. She has an art class and she needs to visit an art museum. I went with her and we went to visit this way cool historical house that was converted to an art museum. The artwork on display was artwork from Ogden High School District High School students. It was pretty impressive what they made. Abby had her piano recital and did so good. She is a hard worker and has grown so much. 

Grace needed a new project in her sewing class, so she offered to sew Ben's t-shirt quilt. She has been working really hard on it. I am so excited! Grace had her voice recital and she sang Somewhere Over the Rainbow, she blew us away. She did amazing!! We are so proud of her. For Grace's theater class, they performed "Check Please". It was so funny, even Spencer thought it was funny. It had various scenes of bad dates. Grace's date was when she met her blind date and it was a really young kid. Grace did so great, we could hear every word and she was awesome!  

Spencer started Track with Plain City Recreation. In his first track meet he ran in the 1600 M and the 800 M. He has gone on a few campouts with scouts. On the one campout, they went to Henefer and the next morning they went on a 10-mile hike/walk through Echo Canyon, they walked through a few historical sites. Spencer also was able to participate in the STEM fair in Krypto. It is so awesome that out of his whole grade he was in the top three. It didn't work out like he was hoping, but he did well. 

We had fun going up to Malad for dinner one Sunday. It was colder than we were hoping for, but we had a great time. We were able to roast our marshmallows inside on a little marshmallow roaster. 

Bryce and I set up an appointment to go visit the Taylorsville temple open house. It is such a beautiful temple. It looks so big, but really it is smaller than Ogden. Abby couldn't make it because it ended up being the same day as drill tryouts. 

I celebrated my 43rd birthday. Grace is always so sweet to make everyone's cake! 

Bryce made his 2nd annual visit to the waterfall up Jump-off Canyon. It isn't so much of a trail as a make-your-own-way, but it looks really cool from the top. 

Last night we went on a drive down to Harold Crane. There was an atmospheric super storm and you could see the Northern Lights. It was so crazy! When we got there it just looked dark, but the more you looked you could faintly see tiny lines across the sky. You couldn't see the other colors, but if you used a camera it picked up the different colors. It was a pretty cool sight.
