4th of July Weekend

With the 4th on a Sunday it made for a great weekend. We started celebrating early with the baby show. Gracie won most hair (big surprise)!! She didn't want her picture taken at all, but finally we gave her a cookie and she at least sat long enough to take one picture with Ben and Abby.
Ben and Abby had a great time decorating their bikes this year. We went to Zurchers and bought a few things to use and they thought it was great. Abby was very creative and decorated most of it by herself. Most of it had fallen off by the end of the night, but it worked out. Ben wanted to decorate his bike with Jed, so we all worked together. Ben was very picky about what went where on his bike and he was so happy with the way it turned out. Then after we finished we headed over to the dinner. We felt a little ripped off because the year we move to the center of town right next to the town square the dinner is moved and it wasn't at the town square.
The dinner is always so much fun. Chloe and Abby danced the night away in front of the band. They had so much fun, and were so cute to watch. The kids just had a lot of fun playing with their cousins. Ben walked around and looked at the cars almost all night long. I didn't even see him. Bryce said he loved all the cars.
The 4th of July was great. It started out really cold. Both Ben and Abby had to wear their jackets during the parade Ben and Abby had so much fun riding their bikes in the parade. Bryce tied a rope onto Abby's bike to pull her when she got tired, but she refused to be pulled and made Bryce untie it. She rode the whole way and loved it. Then of course the parade is always fun.
The celebration was at the Lee Olsen park, which was so nice. There was tons of room for everyone, but I felt like I didn't get to see anyone because you weren't running into everyone. But the kids had fun playing the games and Abby loved to play on the blow up toys with her cousins. Grace finally had had enough and I went to take her home and she crashed in my arms and slept the whole time I walked home and had a great nap.
Then that afternoon Ben, Abby and Bryce went swimming with all the Moyes'. Then we went to Blake's party. There were so many kids for my kids to play with and it was fun to visit with the parents.
After the party Bryce put on his own firework show for our family and Gary and Beckie's. It was fun and the kids loved it.
Sunday morning Ben woke up and said, "Mom, happy real 4th of July". He thought it was funny that we had celebrated the 4th on the wrong day.
Monday we went on a picnic with my family. It was such a nice day. The kids played kickball and ran around in the grass. We had a great time with my family.
The whole weekend was great.
