My little fishies

Our summer has been filled with swimming and more swimming. My kids love the water. And this year I was even was able to get them to take swimming lessons. Last year Abby was too young and Ben was terrified when I took him to swimming lessons, he freaked out and had a fit so we got our money back and left.

So this year we tried swimming lessons at North Shore and my kids loved them. Steph's kids and mine had so much fun taking lessons together. They had high school teachers and loved them. The teachers were so great with the kids and they played games and made it so much fun. Ben loves to play "Alligator, Alligator, What time is it?" and wanted to "feed Charlie, the fish". I was glad Ben had two boy teachers, for him it was such a good thing. He loved everything they said. He had so much fun. He still needs to take the class over because he won't put his head under water, but it was such an improvement over last year we are so happy!! Abby really liked swimming lessons, but more for just playing in the water. I was so glad Gage was in her class, she followed him around and tried to hold his hand everywhere the class went. It was such a great experience for them and they can't wait to take it again next year.

Lucky for my little fish their grandparents let them come over and swim a lot. My mom bought a little pool and put it at the bottom of her slide. They get going so fast and love splashing into the pool. We put the little kid slide in, but no one wanted to slide down on that one, even Grace likes the big slide.

Then Lynn and Kay have a pool that my kids have loved this year. It is deep enough that they have to wear their life jackets, but they have had fun practicing what they have learned in swimming lessons. Ben and Abby both like to glide on their backs and show us their kicks and monster arms. It has been great practice.

We also went to Willard Bay a few weeks ago. It ended up being a little breezy, so skiing wasn't great, but the kids still had a blast. They loved to play on the beach and go for rides in the boat.

So since it has been such a hot summer, we are loving cooling off in the pool.
