Way to Go!!

Bryce has participated in the Ogden Marathon for six of the last seven years, starting with the marathon, then the relay, and now its the half marathon. Bryce has been working really hard this year to cut down his time for the half marathon. He was running less than 8 minute miles and was excited for his new time. Then about a month before the race his knee started to hurt. He was so frustrated with this development. He has always been very healthy and had no problems running, so this was very upsetting. He went to a doctor and she told him nothing was wrong. So he ran a few more times and his knee was still hurting him. So he tried a few stretches and ran again and it didn't hurt as bad. So he decided to try running and see what would happen.
So the day of the race I stayed home to get the kids ready and meet Bryce there after his race. I was anxious to get a phone call to see if he had finished the race. So finally on our way driving to the race Bryce called and finished the race, and was about 10 minutes faster than last year. HORRAY!! He always amazes me at the goals he sets and works so hard for.

Two years ago we learned that they also have a Kids K. So Ben ran in it last year and loved it. So this year Ben had a soccer game at the same time. But he chose to run instead. So we signed him up and got him ready to run. He thought it was fun to "train" with Bryce. They went on one or two runs around the neighborhood, but most of his "training" was running around the inside of our house - so fun.
When we got to the race we found Megan who had ran in the relay and they had signed Molly up to run in the Kids K as well. The kids had fun playing before the race and running around. We thought they were going to be so tired for the race, but they never slowed down. Then when they lined up they stretched and got all ready. Ben ran almost the whole time and loved it and can't wait to do it again. And next year Abby wants to run too. We can't wait till next year.
